PSW Canada (2007) and the OPSWA have united.
Together, PSW Canada (2007) and the Ontario Personal Support Workers Association create a stronger entity advocating for the rights of Personal Support Workers in Ontario, as well as the rights of the individuals they care for.
Through this alliance, PSW Canada (2007) and the OPSWA will push for changes in the current Health Care system, demanding a greater standard of working conditions for PSWs, and improvements to the quality of living conditions for residents in long term care.

OPSWA's President Miranda Ferrier has been asked to join the steering committee of the new and upcoming PSW Registry to represent PSWs in Ontario.

OPSWA has also embarked on a relationship with the Ministry of Labor (MOL). OPSWA is working with the MOL on promoting MOL materials pertaining to Infection Control and workplace safety for PSWs.
